WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ -  Monmouth University men's lacrosse attackman Bryce Wasserman (Southlake, Texas / Grapevine Faith) was chosen by the Denver Outlaws in the seventh round of the 2018 Major League Lacrosse Draft.

Wasserman, who was the 62nd overall selection, is the first Monmouth player to be picked in the Major League Lacrosse Draft.

"Words can't describe how I felt the moment I heard my name called," Wasserman said of being drafted. "I couldn't be more honored to be one of 63 guys to continue playing the game we love professionally, and I am excited to represent Monmouth and our lacrosse program in the professional ranks."

The senior owns a number of Monmouth scoring records and is the Hawks' all-time leader in goals (96), game-winning goals (9), hat tricks (14), assists (45) and points (141). Wasserman's 31 goals in 2018 are the most in a single season for a Monmouth player, while his 16 assists and 45 points as a junior also stand as a single-season highs. He also possesses single-game records for goals (6), assists (5) and points (7 – three times).

Wasserman is a 2018 team captain and a Preseason All-MAAC selection after helping lead Monmouth to the 2017 MAAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships. A First-Team All-MAAC choice at attack, Wasserman has twice been named to the MAAC All-Academic Team.

"Our staff couldn't be happier for Bryce and the opportunity that he has in front of him to compete in the MLL," head coach Brian Fisher said. "It's such an honor to be selected in the draft but also to work and play alongside of some of the best coaches and players in the sport. Bryce is an outstanding ambassador for Monmouth University and our program and we are excited to watch him play at the next level."
