Dragons Lacrosse honors 8 Seniors Thursday night at Dragon Stadium

The Dragon high school boy's lacrosse team will end their season this Thursday night at Dragon Stadium.   The Dragons will host Keller and will seek to retain the Trinity Cup, a rivalry-trophy, which they claimed during the inaugural game last year.

The Senior Night festivities will honor the Dragon's eight graduating players.  The defense is led by Fairfield-bound George Elmquist and fellow seniors Michael Tsay, Nick Donfris and goalie Eryk Ross

Midfield is an area of experience for Head Coach Bart Sullivan as seniors Casey Wasserman, a Towson commit, Carson Green, and Denison-bound A.J. Van den Dyssel know each other well having played together with Elmquist, Tsay and Donfris for seven years. Joining them is Senior Attackman Jake Gillen.

The group started the season with high expectations as this core group led their squads to the youth league championship games in both their sixth-grade and eighth-grade years.  Southlake had trouble closing out games and was on the short end of three one-goal losses

Juniors Greg Hill, goalie, and Ryan Thompson team with sophomores Mitchell Gruenewald and Matt Broadway toround out the defensive long-sticks.

Joining the midfielders are Juniors Paxton Garman, Jeremy Bach, Austin Lehrmann, Will Horak, Evan Hochwalt, and sophomores Harry Blake, John Hollingsworth and Dylan Dibello.

Luke Leffingwell and Connor Edge share primary face-off duties. George Elmquist has been an effective stopper when taking face-offs when a key defensive stop is needed.

Gillen is joined on the attack with Sophomores Preston Deno, Harry Blake and Freshman Jake Donfris. To add offensive depth, Junior Alex Cartwright and Freshmen John Manero and Grant Deno just joined the varsity squad as Sophomores Walker Southern and Freddie Elmquist came up to deepen the defense.

The JV game starts at 5:30, with the Senior recognition ceremony taking place at half-time of their game at approximately 6pm.

Additionally, fans will get raffle tickets with their admission and will have the opportunity to win quarterly raffles for gift certificates from DICK'S Sporting Goods and VERTS Mediterranean Grill.
