Southlake, TX – March 25, 2020– The Clariden School, a North Texas leader in accredited, private PreK – High School STEAM education, launched instructional live classroom learning online, Monday, March 23, 2020. This program began in light of the Tarrant County mandate for school closures due to COVID-19.

All Clariden students, age 3 through high school seniors, attend Clariden teacher-led interactive classes via Google Classrooms, Google Hangouts, and Zoom following the normal accredited curriculum. They also can meet one-on-one with their teachers during daily times using Google Hangouts or Zoom. Student assignments and resources are accessible to them and their parents in Google Classrooms and Canvas, where completed lessons and assignments can be uploaded, stored and graded.

Conducting live classrooms online ensures students meet to receive face-to-face instruction from their teachers, collaborate with their classmates, and provide social connection with their peers. This carefully designed method of distance learning will service the needs of all Clariden Cougars. It ensures that learning continues, gaps are prevented, and that our Clariden community continues to meet our high academic standard of excellence.

“This is a new, exciting journey for our teachers, our students, and our community,” said Sallie Wells, Head of School, about this new way of norm for Clariden’s students. “We will continue to provide learning opportunities to our students that allow them to meet the educational outcomes necessary for their grade level in accordance with Texas Essential Knowledge & Skills for English-Language Arts and Reading, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, as well as electives for the older students.”

In accordance with the school’s mission, students will continue to be provided with opportunities to stretch their creative genius, expand their skills in areas of need, and challenge their areas of strength.
