Ruby Slipper Soiree Featured On NBC 5 'Talk Street'

On October 11, at 12;30 p.m., NBC 5 "Talk Street" will air a segment featuring the upcoming fundraiser Ruby Slipper Soiree.  Host Kristi Nelson interviewed Chairman Lisa Cumbie Hernandez and CASA of Tarrant County Development Director Natalie Stalmach about plans for the upcoming benefit to be held on October 23, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  The 3rd annual  Ruby Slipper Soiree benefits CASA of Tarrant County, an organization dedicated to helping abused and neglected children, and is presented by the Mid-Cities Kappa Alpha Theta alumnae chapter.

During the taped segment, plans for the shoe fashion show event were revealed.  The Ruby Slipper Soiree show will feature the chic, cosmopolitan footwear and handbag designs of style partner Elaine Turner along with jewelry from Premier Designs, modeled by Kappa Alpha Theta collegians from Texas Christian University.  Ruby Slipper Soiree attendees will also enjoy a selection of delicious hors d’oeuvres from Classic Café’s award-winning Chef Charles Youts and fine wines from Hahn Winery and Bear Creek Spirits & Wine.

Also during the event, guests will have an opportunity to win a very special Elaine Turner prize package and sample two, new ready-to-pour products from Candy's Signature Cocktails.  For a $25 donation, 50 lucky participants can take part in the first-of-its-kind "Spirits and Sparkle Pull", that will reward them with a bottle of either Candy's Signature Lemon Drop or Honey Bee, as well as a select piece of Premier Designs jewelry.

Tickets for the Ruby Slipper Soiree are $50 and may be purchased online by visiting CASA of Tarrant County at www.speakupforachild.org and clicking on the Ruby Slipper Soiree logo.
