Eight Carroll ISD schools have been named to the 2011 National Center for Education Achievement's Higher Performing Schools list, according to a story by Impact News.

Schools are selected based on the amount of success in preparing students for college and are recognized for specific subjects. 

Honors are based on student academic growth and achievements on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills Commended standard.

Here are the eight CISD schools:

Carroll High School (math)

Dawson Middle School (math, reading, social studies)

Eubanks Intermediate School (math)

Carroll Elementary School (reading)

Durham Elementary School (math, reading, writing)

Johnson Elementary School (math, reading, writing)

Old Union Elementary School (math, reading, writing)

Rockenbaugh Elementary School (math and writing)
