Lady Dragons Lacrosse Team hosts ESD Thursday night

The Dragons girls varsity lacrosse team is off to a 2-2 start. With 3 games canceled due to weather, they have had convincing wins against neighboring rivals, Colleyville and Keller. Losses came to Flower Mound and Coppell. This week's games against Dallas private school trio Hockaday, ESD, and Ursuline will prove to test the Dragons and first-year head coach Faith Richards.

Richards joins the Dragon staff as a former D1 player for Rutgers University.  While there she earned All American recognition twice.  She was a two-time Captain and Player of the Year.  She also was Rutgers Defensive Player of the year 2010, Big East Academic All-America Team 2007-2010, and Two Time-Team Captain 2008-2010

The Lady Dragons team is young and diverse with 10 different scorers thus far. The Lady Dragons focus on strong team play and sharing the ball.  Junior midfielder and draw-taker Isabel Russey leads the scoring with 8, while Junior Captain Annie Teer leads the defensive unit in caused turnovers. With 8 underclassmen and three strong goalies on the Varsity roster, this young team shows extreme promise for the second half of the season and into 2016.

This week's competition includes a home game against ESD on Thursday and road games on Tuesday vs. Hockaday and Saturday at Ursuline.
