Between studying for final exams, yoga and spin classes, and eating and baking holiday cookies, the Southlake Girls Lacrosse Association (SGLA) High School team is spreading the spirit of the season by volunteering for local philanthropies.

Most recently, the high school team volunteered for Community Table, a food bank based out of Davis Memorial UMC in North Richland Hills.  The girls welcomed families as they shopped, carried out groceries, and sorted and restocked food. 

“An important mission of our organization is to develop female athletes for success in life and lacrosse.  What better way to develop a person than to empower her to give back to the community and show how just one person can make a difference. We want to thank Community Table for providing our young women with the opportunity give back,” said Head Coach Faith Renner.

Junior player Jordyn Harryman reflected on her experience at Community Table, “Being with my teammates is absolutely incredible but giving back gives you a different feeling of joy. And it means more to be able to give back to the community with the people we love. It’s important for our team to be a family not only on the field but off as well. Our team has such a caring heart that beats together.”

Southlake Girls Lacrosse Association (SGLA) offers the sport of lacrosse to all girls in Southlake at every age group beginning in kindergarten and continuing throughout high school.
