On Thursday, June 26, members from Ability Connection celebrated America’s birthday with their friends from EnAble, a PepsiCo® Employee Resource Group that promotes different abilities to “EnAble” all people to realize their fullest potential.
In rooms decked out in red, white and blue streamers and balloons, smiles from ear to ear were seen on people with intellectual and physical disabilities as they enjoyed a day of food, dancing, games and a pre-Independence Day parade. EnAble grilled mouthwatering hamburgers and hotdogs, served with Frito-Lay® snacks like Lay’s® potato chips, Fritos® corn chips, Doritos® tortilla chips and and other yummy treats. It was a beautiful day to celebrate America and persons with disabilities.
Throughout the year, Ability Connection is blessed with corporate partners, like PepsiCo’s EnAble ERG, that take time to volunteer with fun activities, vocational training and residential support for its members with intellectual and physical disabilities. Throughout the world and since 2007 at Ability Connection, EnAble and PepsiCo are committed to providing individuals with disabilities with equal opportunity and treatment.
ABOUT ABILITY CONNECTION
The mission of Ability Connection is to enrich the lives of children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities through comprehensive, life changing care, training and supports. Headquartered in Dallas, the nonprofit also has offices in Austin, Fort Worth, Waco and Wichita Falls, as well as a new training facility in Southlake and group homes in Dallas, Garland, Richardson and throughout the rest of the state.
The nonprofit offers a variety of services, designed to address the individual choices and priorities.
