North Lake College Summer Hawaiian Field Studies

Pre-Trip Classes are Starting Soon!  Sign up NOW!

16 College Credit Hours, 3 Hawaiian Islands, 2 Weeks

Junior and Senior high school students and current college students are invited to earn 16 transferable college credit hours as they participate in service learning, cross cultural engagement, and adventure. The Hawaiian Field Studies Program at North Lake College has taken students to the Hawaiian Islands for the last 30 years, visiting remote locations that tourists typically can’t access. If you or your student would love the chance to interact with their learning by visiting volcanoes, hiking through rainforests, and snorkeling in pristine waters, then please consider supporting them as they join us for summer 2018. Typically, about one third of our students come from High Schools in the DFW area; some come from North Lake and others join from local universities. Students can earn credits in Geology, Biology, Botany, Photography, and PE. This program is designed for both non-science majors and science majors. It is an excellent opportunity for resume building, earning letters of recommendation from college professors and for setting your student apart on their college applications. The dates of the 2018 program are June 18th-July 2nd

The program is filling up quickly and expects to be at capacity by March. Click here to see a short video of our experiences. Email Hawaii@dcccd.edu or call 972-273-3279 for more information.
