Now’s your chance to join one of the fastest-growing sports in North Texas.

The Southlake Carroll Lacrosse Association has opened registration for the 2013 spring season. With teams starting as early as first grade, the SCLA is welcoming boys and girls of all ages to join the association made up of almost 500 players.

The SCLA expects continued growth with the increased exposure of lacrosse on television and the addition of the beautiful new athletic facility at North Park, which includes three lighted grass fields and several additional amenities.

After a nationwide search, the SCLA also hired Bart Sullivan as the high school head coach and director of lacrosse. Sullivan comes to Southlake after helping Denver’s Arapahoe High School capture the 2012 State Championship with a perfect 19-0 record. He also served as the director of training for 3D Lacrosse in Denver.

“Our goal will be to use lacrosse as a means to build work ethic, courage, leadership, teamwork, competitive spirit and lifelong friendships amongst our players,” said Sullivan. “I’m honored to work with such a talented staff and build upon this program’s momentum.”

Sullivan was a standout member on the University of Denver teams from 2003 to 2006. He was named captain his senior year and helped Denver earn their first NCAA Tournament berth. He was recently honored as a member of the Pioneer’s All-Decade Team. Sullivan has already added Box Lacrosse into the practice schedules to build stick skills, creativity and reaction.
