White’s Chapel United Methodist Church is honored to announce the dates, December 14 and 15, of its annual “Born in Me,” a theatrical and inspirational celebration of Jesus Christ’s birth against the ethereal backdrop of music, incandescent lights, video, drama and dance. The entire show will take place in White’s Chapel Sanctuary (185 S White Chapel Blvd. Southlake). Admission is free to the public. The December 14 shows will include complimentary winter inspired refreshments — hot cider and homemade Christmas cookies — prior to the 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. performances and gratis brunch — pancakes, French toast, eggs, etc. — will be featured before the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. December 15 enactments.

Shaunna Fuller, Executive Director of Music and Worship at White’s Chapel, and Tim Georgeff, Director of Creative Arts, will collaborate again on the yearly presentation. The innovative, state-of-the art program includes a 50-piece orchestra with a 130 member choir, soloists, actors, dancers, drum line, contemporary & time honored hymns. Born in Me, the centerpiece musical number originally recorded by Francesca Battistelli, is showcased as solo moment by Julie Elias.

“We are delighted to be presenting our Christmas extravaganza again,” said Shaunna Fuller, Executive Director of Music and Worship. “Our auditioned community choir, Cantare, comprised of 8-18 year old prodigies from all over the Dallas/Fort Worth area, is especially thrilled to be a part of the production,” continued Fuller. The entire experience will be under the orchestral direction of Bruce Wermuth, a Dallas-based composer/arranger, songwriter, producer and conductor. His leadership and passion will undoubtedly guide each presentation to captivating levels that will linger with the audience throughout the holiday season."

Dr. LaToya Lain, Professor of Music at Central Michigan University, will serve as the narrator and will also perform a solo. Additional vocalists include Julie Elias, Micah Blalock and Ken Nelson.
