Shane McAuliffe of The Texas Bucket List partnered with Texas Dairy Queen Operators’ Council (TDQOC) on the half-hour program which airs in 22 Texas markets.

There’s a longstanding Texas tradition for telling tales both tall and wide. But really now: An 18-month-old mayor who’s a shoo-in for a third term? A medieval castle hidden amid Austin’s thickets? A motel where the accommodations include tents, teepees and a vintage trailer?

All true, and just a few of the many spellbinding stories showcased on The Texas Bucket List, a weekly syndicated television program hosted by storyteller Shane McAuliffe. The half-hour program airs in 22 Texas media markets.

Given the program’s focus on tradition and cultural touchpoints, forging a partnership between the program and the Texas Dairy Queen Operators’ Council (TDQOC) is a perfect fit. After all, there are few entities more iconic throughout the Lone Star State than Dairy Queen restaurants in Texas.

“This new partnership beautifully aligns our shared core audiences,” says Lou Romanus, CEO of TDQOC. “Our customers respect our state’s grand traditions and history, which make up the program’s storytelling focus. We’re thrilled to work with Shane and his talented cast and crew as they travel throughout Texas and tell the stories of our great state.”

The Texas Bucket List  will celebrate its 200th episode with a socially-distanced event for a limited number of sponsors, partners and guests at The Alamo in San Antonio on Saturday, February 27, 2021. Spotlighting the Texas Revolution, the episode will air on March 6, 2021, the 185th anniversary of the Alamo’s fall.

“It’s a real honor and privilege to share this partnership between our program and Dairy Queen restaurants in Texas,” says McAuliffe. “DQ restaurants in Texas are truly iconic, and we look forward to visiting our shared fans and friends on our travels throughout the state.”

McAuliffe has been recognized with numerous television broadcast excellence awards, including a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award, the Lone Star Emmy Award, the Barbara Jordan Media Award, multiple Texas Association of Press Broadcasters awards, and several Telly Awards.
