Dragon goalie Eryk Ross

Rising sophmore Goalie Eryk Ross, and with fellow rising sophmores Defenseman George Elmquist and midfielder Clayton Keyes were named as 2014 Brine National High School All-Americans.  They were selected to represent Team Texas at the 2014 Brine National Lacrosse Classic to be held in Boyds, Maryland, June 30-July 3.

Ross, son of Mary Ann and Ken Ross, completed his freshman year at Nolan Catholic High School.   Elmquist, son of Kristie and Joel Elmquist, and Keyes, son of Sandy and Ken Keyes attend Southlake Carroll High School.  All three players are Dragon teammates with the Southlake Carroll Lacrosse Association program.

Ryan Thompson, a rising freshman, also earned a spot on the 2018 squad.  Thompson, the son of Sarah and Steve Thompson will attend Southlake Carroll High School next year.

The Brine National Lacrosse Classic brings the top high school lacrosse players in the country to one venue, where regional teams will compete to become the 2014 National Champion.  For additional details, go here.

UNDER ARMOUR UNDERCLASSMAN ALL-AMERICAN TRIALS

Additionally rising junior Dean Dibello and rising senior Michael Cox were selected among  players to compete in the first of 10 regional Under Armour Underclassman Tryouts for their All-American games.  Following the selection process, the teams will be chosen to represent both a north and a south team.  Just 44 players are selected.

Dibello and Cox challenged to make the team at tryouts at Kissimmee Florida.  They are facing steep odds because as the growth of lacrosse in the south is well-documented it will take time for organizing bodies to recognize that fact.  Last year, there was no representation from Texas on the boys or girl’s squads.  In fact, the south team was comprised with a majority of players from New Jersey and Maryland.

ADRENALINE LACROSSE ALL-AMERICAN CLASSIC

Graduating senior Bryce Wasserman was chosen to be part of the Adrenaline Lacrosse All-American game in Southern California.  Wasserman was one of 13 players on the South team to get on the score sheet with an assist.  After falling down early, and trailing trailing by seven goals in the first quarter, the South narrowed the deficit to 10-6 at the half.

The South team exploded in the second half and ultimately won the contest 20-5.  This was the fourth annual event and divides the top players in the entire country into two teams.
