Disney’s charming tale of adventure, friendship and transformation, takes on a glorious new twist at Dawson Middle School Wednesday, May 13 through Friday, May 15.

Dawson Performing Arts Company (DPAC) has created an unforgettable experience with this culturally rich version of Aladdin. Complete with the intriguing characters we’ve come to love and the enhanced score of the Broadway musical, the goal of DPAC’s production is to introduce audiences to an alluring geographic experience, a vibrant musical score, and diverse talent resulting in an unforgettable experience.

Billed as the biggest production ever performed on the DMS stage, Aladdin is primed to live up to the hype.  Student involvement is at an all-time high as Aladdin features 30 performers, 15 technical crew members as well as poster art and stage sets designed and crafted by Dawson Art students.

Director and theater arts instructor Michael McNay set out to make this the most inclusionary production in the school’s history. “Not every student has an interest in being a performer,” noted McNay, “the beauty of theatre is that there is a wide range of needs and interest areas that need students of all skill sets.  Artists, engineers, historians, and writers all have a place in the world of theatre, and we want to be able to develop all of the students into better versions of themselves exactly as they are.”

With only 3 shows you won’t want to miss this opportunity to treat yourself and support our students!
