8th Annual race this Saturday at Dragon Stadium. 1K fun run and 5k Kiwanis Race
This Saturday morning, the Southlake Kiwanis will host their 8th annual Run 4 kids 5k and a 1K Fun Run at Dragon Stadium.
This race helps this local group of nearly 50 men and women on their mission to enhance our local communities by improving the lives of children. “We support a wider variety of groups, with the lowest overhead, than any other local organization” shares current Kiwanis Club President John Thane.
While this Kiwanis group is based in Southlake, the men and women volunteers come from all across our area. As such, the group supports Key Clubs in Colleyville, Grapevine and Southlake High Schools and reaches out to support a wide variety of child-focused organizations including Community Storehouse, Grace, Alliance for Children, Youth World, Salvation Army, Christ's Haven for Children, Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life, Spokes for Hope, Leader Kids, C-STAR and more.
Online Race registration is closing at midnight tonight. If you're not a runner but want to support the race and these great causes, and still get the shirt and goodie bags, you can sign-up as a Virtual Runner. All pre-registered runners will get a sweat-wicking race shirt and cloth/reusable cinch-style Goodie Bag filled with samples, coupons, various protein bars, and more.
Pre-registered runners can also select or add your favorite kid-focused group from the pull down menu and Kiwanis will support them as well.
