Snappy Salads Partners with Tour de Fresh to Put Salad Bars in Local Schools

Snappy Salads has partnered with Tour de Fresh Texas, a one-day cycling event benefiting local schools. Tour de Freshorganizes cycling events to raise money to donate salad bars to public schools. The goal for Texas event is to raise $10,000 to fund three new salad bars in area schools. Now through October 1, Southlake area residents can contribute to the campaign at Snappy Salads located at Southlake Blvd. and Kimball Ave. in Southlake. 

The Texas event will take place on Saturday, October 1, 2016. Snappy Salads’ Fort Worth location (6115 Camp Bowie Blvd at Westridge Avenue) will host the starting and finish line ceremonies for the 100k cycling event, and will provide healthy snacks and a post-race lunch. “We enjoy giving back to the community that supports us and are always looking for ways to partner with like-minded organizations,” said Chris Dahlander, founder and CEO of Snappy Salads. “Tour de Fresh aligns perfectly with our core values of promoting good food and good health.  Our goal is to have 200 riders so that we can make a real difference.”

Snappy Salads received the “Restaurant Neighbor Award” from The Texas Restaurant Association for its commitment to the community and has supported such events as Movember (men’s health awareness), Days of Taste (nutritional education for underprivileged youth), and holds electronic waste recycling events twice a year.

Participants can choose between a 68-mile (100K) or 20-mile ride, giving everyone from avid cyclists to local families the opportunity to participate.
