With 23 nomination and 7 awards, Carroll Theatre is coming off a tremendous year in 2015/16!
And the 2016/17 season will not disappoint, as humor and satire will again fill the theater.

Let us set the stage…

In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year draught, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity’s most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides he’s had enough, and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!

URINETOWN – The Musical (don’t let the title put you off) is a hilariously funny, and lively musical that resists indulging in “potty humor” but instead delights audiences with its light, insightful satire, engaging scores, and parodies of traditional musicals and itself. Nominated for an impressive 10 Tony Awards, it won for Best Book, Score, and Direction. It also won the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Musical.

The title may be somewhat outlandish but it’s never crude, lewd, or rude. URINETOWN delivers on both thought-provoking layers and depth and light-hearted fun. Most of all, URINETOWN as delivered by almost 100 theater, choir, and band students from Southlake Carroll High School is sure to deliver a hilariously entertaining evening of fun.
