Southlake Carroll XC Runs in Paschal Invitational

Dragon Boys Finish Fifth; Girls Take Sixth

FORT WORTH, TX – With the top 28 Southlake Carroll runners competing at the Woodbridge XC Classic in Norco, Ca., this weekend, the next generation of Dragons toed the line at the Paschal Invitational in Fort Worth. The boys finished fifth in the varsity race, while the girls came in sixth.

“This was a good opportunity for some of our less-experienced runners to get a taste of varsity competition,” Southlake Carroll Head Coach Justin Leonard said. “It’s a tough course, and I’m proud of how they attacked it.”

In the varsity boys’ race, Ryan Krasinski paced the Dragons with a time of 17:04, good for a 17^th-place finish. Grant Norgart finished 28^th in 17:31, followed by Jett Jones (31^st, 17:37), Claudio Auns (38^th, 17:51) and Adhavan Palanivelrajan (40^th, 17:57).

Lucy Pettigrew was the Dragons’ top runner in the girls’ varsity race, finishing 24^th with a time of 21:20. Ryann Flores finished 39^th in 21:50, followed by Lilah Gornell (42^nd, 22:04), Megan Berman (46^th, 22:32) and Ashley Cusick (47^th, 22:39).

The Dragons finished second in the JV girls’ race, led by Quinn Salstrand, who finished fourth overall with a time of 22:54. Sophie Spurlock finished seventh in 23:09, followed by Haley Badgett (8^th, 23:16), Akshita Kasthuri (13^th, 23:42) and Annalise Bell (14^th, 23:43).

The boys JV team finished sixth, led by Colin Van de Berghe, who finished 16^th overall in 19:19. Andrew Wang finished 17^th in 19:20, followed by Armaan Dhillon (25^th, 19:44), Rayan Behjoo (27^th, 19:50) and Hassan Saadi (29^th, 19:57).

The Dragons will return to action next Saturday morning, when they host the Southlake Invitational at Bob Jones Park.
