Learn the history of the 1919 Carroll Hill School, birthplace of Carroll ISD and the city of Southlake, at a colorful exhibit in the lobby of Southlake Town Hall and the Southlake Library, 1400 Main St., from July 12-Sept. 6. The school, said beloved former Supt. Jack D. Johnson, was "where it all began." The exhibit was researched and written by the Southlake Historical Society. Everyone is invited to a free ice cream social and reception 5-6:30 p.m., Sunday, July 28, sponsored by Shake Shack, Southlake. Exhibit sponsors are Jean Paryl of Charles Schwab, Southlake, and First National Bank of Southlake. Hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday-Saturday.
