Walk for PKD
Southlake Town Squire
Southlake, Texas 76092

Come join us for a family/pet friendly morning of fun while supporting finding a cure for Polycystic Kidney Disease.

The annual Walk for PKD  to take place October 19, starting at 8:00 a.m. in Southlake Town Square.  PKD is one of the most common, life-threatening genetic kidney diseases affecting thousands in America.  People with PKD develop fluid-filled cysts in their kidneys, causing the kidney to enlarge to the size of a football and requires dialysis and/or kidney transplantation.    Because PKD is a genetic disease, entire families are directly affected.  Parents have a 50% chance of passing it to each of their children, impacting future generations.

The annual Walk for PKD is the signature fundraising and awareness event for the PKD Foundation each year.    It is a family-oriented, dog friendly event with 100% of money raised going towards research for a cure.   The North Texas community is currently in the process of forming walk teams, soliciting supporters, sponsors and in-kind donations for this annual event.  A couple of key highlights at this year’s Great Pumpkin Party October 19 at Southlake Town Square include a children/family walk, children and dog costume contests, children's activities, youth volunteers from local schools and organizations.
