The annual Walk for PKD is the signature fundraising and awareness event for North Texas. It is a family-oriented, dog friendly event with 100% of money raised going towards research for a cure. Key highlights of the Great Pumpkin Party at Southlake Town Square include a 5K and children/family walk, children and dog costume contests, children's activities, youth volunteers from local schools and organizations, as well as a raffle for a children's playhouse provided by the Wynne Moore Group, Allie Beth Allman & Associates and Garabedia Homes.
Polycystic Kidney Disease is one of the most common, life-threatening genetic kidney diseases affecting thousands in America and many in our community. People with PKD develop fluid-filled cysts in their kidneys, causing the kidney to enlarge to the size of a football and requires dialysis and/or kidney transplantation. PKD is a genetic disease affecting entire families. Parents have a 50% chance of passing to each of their children, impacting future generations.
We Walk and Run to find a cure for PKD. Form your teams, bring your kids, bring your dogs and begin fundraising for PKD. Food and fun for everyone and the event is free! Come dressed in your favorite costume and join in on the fun.
We hope to see you at Southlake Town Square October 27 from 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
