Summer Financial Workshop

Central Standard Time

285 Shady Oaks Drive

As in prior years we want to continue our effort to support financial literacy for younger people. In general, we believe this workshop to be beneficial to those ranging from age 14-25. This means high school students, college students, and even college graduates getting their own financial situation in order. We even welcome adults who would like a refresher on these items! In prior years we have hosted separate workshops for teenagers vs young adults, but this year we are combining our workshop to include both groups where we will have a combined financial lessons presentation, and also a separate breakout group incorporating problem solving for different ages. The presentation portion of the workshop will include topics such as:

  • Cashflow, Budgeting, Banking, and Savings strategies
  • Credit Cards, Debit Cards, and Transition to a Digital Economy
  • Credit Scores, and Identity Theft
  • Payroll, Taxes, and Withholding decisions
  • Basics of Investing
  • Types of Investment Accounts and the Power of Compounding

In addition, we’ll have separate round table discussions with age-appropriate situations, to problem solve for everyday money issues and challenges which will be facilitated by Clintsman Financial Planning representatives. The goal is to give each participant a good overview of the financial decisions and choices required in the adult world, and a list of action steps they can take for where they are today.
