The Bob Jones Nature Center & Preserve (BJNC) is a nonprofit, 501c3 organization that is dedicated to restore and preserve the Eastern Cross Timbers ecosystem through environmental leadership, education, and compatible outdoor activities.
BJNC supports the local community year-round through nature education classes for children and adults, summer day camps, Boy and Girl scout workshops, hiking, bird watching and stargazing.
John Dolford “Bob” Jones, born a slave in 1850, became a prosperous landowner in the Roanoke-Southlake area and a well-respected rancher and family man. Today he’s remembered as the namesake of Bob Jones Nature Center. In 2001 BJNC was established to preserve this historic, wildlife-rich land.
