Interactive Composting Workshop
A great way to earn volunteer hours over Spring Break!
Charlie Shiner, Master Gardener, Master Composter and “The Compost King of Tarrant County” founded the composting program and workshops at Bob Jones Nature Center. Mr. Shiner passed away on November 29, 2016 and left a gap not only in our composting program but in our hearts. He is greatly missed and can never be replaced; however, we want to honor his legacy and continue the composting program he worked so diligently and passionately on. We’ll be hosting an Interactive Composting Workshop over Spring Break 2017 to revamp Charlie’s Composting Corner.
Date: Mar. 17
Time: 1:00-4:00pm
Audience: Adults and 8+ Youth
Registration Info: BJNC.org
You’ll get an overview of the composting process before we begin working on Charlie’s Composting Corner. This group project is ideal for home school groups, Scout troops, high school clubs and service organizations. Families and individuals are also encouraged to participate. Youth ages 8-13 must be accompanied by a parent, teacher, Scout leader or other guardian.
