Art in the Square has a winner!

People’s Choice winner is chosen!

Darien Bogart is the 2018 People’s Choice Winner for the Art in the Square….April 27-29 at Southlake Town Square. Voters chose him from 11 featured artists displayed at Southlake Town Hall.

He lives in Colorado where he is inspired by the American Southwest landscapes, one of his favorite subjects to paint. His use of acrylics recreates the vibrant spirit of the terrain. A sense of depth of the landscape is created by mixing elements close-up, mid distance and far-distance that he transfer s to the canvas. Stop by his tent…#PS14…. to see his fabulous artwork. Art in the Square offers the artwork of over 160 juried professional artists. Also emerging and high school artists will be displaying their art. Youth Art for Art in the Square deadline is fast approaching!

The free fine arts festival at Southlake Town Square April 27-29, 2018 showcases artwork of world-wide renowned artists, emerging artists and high school artists.

Youth Art offers high school students in Northeast Tarrant County the opportunity to enter their artwork in competition for the Lone Star Artist Award. The winner of the award will have their work on display in the rotunda of the Capitol of Texas. The winner and family will receive two nights of hotel accommodations in Austin courtesy of Kids Matter International and a VIP Tour of the Texas Capitol courtesy of State Representative Giovannni Capriglione.

Any student of high school age in Northeast Tarrant County including those in private schools and home schooled can submit artwork to be juried. In addition to the Lone Star Artist Award, the jury committee selects winners in various categories. Winners receive awards provided by Roxann Taylor with Engel & Volkers Real Estate.

Deadline for artwork is March 30, 2018. Submit artwork at www.artinthesquare.com

Will your favorite featured artist win?

 

Your ballot is waiting for you….. the 4th Art in the Square People’s Choice Award  voting ends April 1. Artwork of the 2017 2D featured artists is exhibited in the foyer of Southlake Town Hall.  The public can view the art and vote by ballot until April 1.

The artists competing for the honor of being named the People’s Choice winner are Amos Amit, Keith Andry, Gwen Bennett, Jennifer Cavan, Rey D’Alfonso, Gregory Harris, Ellen Marshall, Jo Moncrief, Micah Mullen, Rodgers Naylor, Paul Niktchenko and  Marjolyn Van Der Hart.  The gallery of artwork offers fiber, watercolor, 2D mixed media, digital graphics, drawing/printmaking and oil/acrylics. The People’s Choice Winner will be recognized at the event with a banner on the winner’s tent.

Attend the free 21/2 day fine art festival  at Southlake Town Square April 28-30 to see if your favorite artist is the winner.

Applications are now being accepted for 18th Art in the Square to be held April 28-30, 2017 at Southlake Town Square.  Professional artists and emerging artist are invited to apply by November 2, 2016 to be juried. The Emerging Artist program is designed especially for DFW area artists new to outdoor juried shows.

 

Art in the Square has grown in reputation to become one of the top art shows in the country. In 2015 the event was chosen #12 in the Elite 20 list of the ArtFairSourceBook.  Since 2000, it has been singled by artists and art patrons as the place to be in April.  Presented by the Southlake Women’s Club for 17 years.
