Art in the Square presented by the Southlake Women’s Club invites aspiring high school artists in Northeast Tarrant County to submit artwork. The free fine-arts festival is at Southlake Town Square April 28-30, 2017. Artwork of world-wide renowned artists, emerging artists and high school artists is showcased. One of the goals of the event is to encourage young artists.
Youth Art offers high school students in Northeast Tarrant County the opportunity to enter their artwork in competition for the Lone Star Artist Award. The winner of the award will have their work on display in the rotunda of the Capitol of Texas. The winner and family will receive two nights of hotel accommodations in Austin courtesy of Kids Matter International and a VIP Tour of the Capitol courtesy of State Representative Giovannni Capriglione.
Any student of high school age in Northeast Tarrant County including those in private schools and home schooled can submit artwork to be juried. In addition to the Lone Star Artist Award, the jury committee selects winners in various categories. Winners receive awards provided by Roxann Taylor with Engel & Volkers Real Estate.
